What is Honse Farm?

Honse Farm is a character customization syncing tool for Final Fantasy XIV. It lets you share your modded appearance with friends in real-time — glamours, body mods, accessories, all of it. If you have ever used Mare Synchronos, you already know what this does.

When Mare was shut down, the community lost its syncing tool overnight. People scrambled to set up replacements using Mare's open source code, but every new "fork" became its own isolated island. Friends got split across different services. You had to install separate plugins just to pair with different groups. The community that was once connected started breaking apart.

Honse Farm was built so that can never happen again. Instead of one service run by one group, it is a network of many servers run by many people — all working together. You pick a server, install one plugin, and you can sync with anyone on the entire network, no matter which server they chose.

What makes it different?

• Built on Mare's foundation — the same proven tech that served hundreds of thousands of players, improved and modernized
• One plugin for everyone — no need to install 3 different sync plugins just to pair with friends
• Pairing works like you are used to — direct pairing, Sync Shells, FCs and friend groups, all the same
• No single point of failure — the network is run by the community, not a single person or group, so no one can pull the plug

The Beta Period

We are running a public beta to stress-test the network before stable release. During this period, we need real players syncing at peak hours, venues running events, and the network being put through its paces to make sure everything holds up.

This is also when we collect feedback on what matters most to you. The core syncing works, but we want to hear what the community actually needs before locking in the v1.0 release.

How can you help?

• Use the plugin and sync with your friends like normal — that alone helps
• Report any issues or oddities through our Discord or the forums
• Spread the word so more people can test alongside you
• If you are technically inclined, consider running your own server

What Happens Next

After the beta, our focus shifts to bringing the wider community together.

We are reaching out to the operators of existing Mare forks to see if they will join the network. The goal is not to replace them — it is to connect them. If the major services federate, players will not have to choose anymore. Everyone syncs with everyone, regardless of which service they started on.

We are also working on spreading awareness so venue organizers, FC leaders, and community hubs know this option exists. The more servers that join, the stronger and faster the whole network becomes.

Running Your Own Server

Anyone can run a Honse Farm server. It takes about 10 minutes to set up.

Rent a basic VPS, run our installer, and you are done. You can keep it private for your FC or friend group, or make it public and join the network. Either way, you control your own data and decide who you trust.

Your players connect to your server, but they can still pair and sync with anyone on any other server in the network. You get independence without isolation. The plugin is maintained by HonseFarm, so all you need to worry about is running the server — your players just install and go.
